Ball State Men’s Basketball: “Out of the Shadows” Season Two

Ball State Sports Link, an immersive learning production, premieres Season Two of its, behind-the-scenes, all-access series “Out of the Shadows: Ball State Men’s Basketball” this week.

The series will air locally on WIPB-TV in Muncie, across the state on Indiana Comcast 81 and nationally on Fox College Sports.

Ball State head coach James Whitford has granted Sports Link exclusive access to the team in 2014-15 including on the bus, in the locker room and team meetings. The series has been expanded to include five, 30-minute episodes this year.

“Ball State Sports Link is a tremendous asset for our university, our athletic department and our basketball program,” Whitford said. “The quality of their work is exceptional, and their professionalism is outstanding. We are excited to once again be part of Out of the Shadows, and we can’t wait to see what this season has in store.”

This season, the show will also chronicle Muncie native Jeremiah Davis, fifth-year senior Matt Kamieniecki, sophomore Franko House and freshmen Jeremie Tyler and Sean Sellers.

Season Two will premiere on ballstatesports.com at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, followed by the first of nine airings nationally in October on Fox College Sports beginning Oct. 23.  Fox College Sports (Atlantic, Central and Pacific) reaches an estimated 56 million homes.

Locally, WIPB-TV will air “Out of the Shadows” Friday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m.  Comcast Indiana 81 and Comcast On Demand will also feature the series multiple times weekly in 2014-15 (check your local listings).

Additional distribution will be available through ballstatesports.com and Ball State’s social media platforms (@bsusportslink and @BallStateMBB). Every episode will also be available in the Ball State Sports Link iPad App, which can be downloaded for free in the Apple App Store.

The “Out of the Shadows” executive production team includes junior Dillon Welch, sophomore Ryan Bickford and freshman Matt Craig.  Throughout the season, all students in Ball State Sports Link and those in the new Digital Sports Production track will contribute to the show.
