3rd Down Chirps Returns To FCS; Comcast & WIPB in 2014

Screen Shot 2013-08-27 at 8.10.26 PMThe Emmy-award winning 3rd Down Chirp, an exclusive immersive learning production of Ball State Sports Link and Digital Sports Production, returns for its fourth season in 2014.

Papa John’s also returns as the program’s exclusive title sponsor, as part of its corporate sponsorship with Ball State Athletics.

3rd Down Chirp, delivered by Papa John’s, will provide viewers inside access to the Cardinals on and off the football field. The weekly show will air every Friday at Noon on http://www.ballstatesports.com, plus additional episodes will be televised nationally on Fox College Sports, across the state on Comcast Indiana 81 (CN 81) and locally in Muncie on WIPB-TV.

3DC was awarded a student Emmy Award for Outstanding Production in 2014, plus captured its second “Best of” College Sports Media Award in three years for Outstanding Program Series. ESPN ‘s College GameDay host Rece Davis announced the award, presented by Sports Video Group and the National Association of College Directors of Athletics, earlier this year in Atlanta.

Created by 2012 SL graduate Ben Wagner, the 2014 version of 3rd Down Chirp will be produced by senior Drew Adamson and junior Alex Seitz. Senior Luke Martin, juniors Tyler Bradfield and Torey Fox, along with sophomores Connor Onion and Ryan Bickford are the 2014 talent team and coordinating producers.

Junior wide receiver Aaron Hepp, a Digital Sports Production major and member of Sports Link, will provide inside analysis and anchor the program’s social media conversation.

In addition, over 25 students as part of Sports Link and the TCOM Department’s Digital Sports Production track will assist with the weekly show.
