Ball State Sports Link will produce its 19th, 20th and 21st live production to ESPN 3 this year as Ball State baseball hosts Bowling Green in a three-game series starting Friday.
The Cardinals are 23-15 overall and tied for first in the Mid-American Conference with a 9-3 record.
Friday’s first pitch is slated for 3 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday contests scheduled for 1 p.m.
It will mark the first time Sports Link has produced a baseball series in school history. All three games are available live on ESPN 3 and the Watch ESPN app.
ESPN 3 is ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. The network is currently available to more than 99 million homes at no additional cost to fans that receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.
Senior Alex Seitz will direct the weekend’s games, while senior Tyler Bradfield has the play-by-play for all three games. Bradfield is a 2015 All American with his second-place ranking in the Jim Nantz Award for outstanding collegiate broadcasters.
Sophomore Mick Tidrow is the weekend’s color analyst, while former Cardinal Jarrett James (2012-2015) will serve as a guest analyst. James was the team’s captain in 2015.
Junior Alexis Williams (Friday), sophomore Kaitlyn Young (Saturday) and junior Matt Organ (Sunday) are the sideline reporters.
A ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for Ball Diamond at First Merchants Ballpark Complex is set to take place Saturday before the Cardinals take on Bowling Green.
First Merchants Bank will be offering a $5,000 cash prize to one lucky fan (name to be drawn at random) if the Cardinals hit a grand slam home run against BGSU. Fans will also be eligible to take part in a raffle for three big screen televisions and other prize giveaways each inning courtesy of First Merchants Bank. Fans must be present to win all prizes.
