With the Grammy Awards taking place Sunday, it got us thinking. What’s the best song about golf of all time?

Throughout the years, everyone from professional musicians, to PGA Tour players, to casual weekend amateurs have taken to song to describe the joys and frustrations of the sport. Some parody a popular tune, some come up with completely original pieces. Many even come with a hilarious music video.

But we’ve tracked down what we believe are the seven funniest ever.

“And here are your nominations for Best Golf Parody Songs of All Time!”

7. There is no other place to start this list than with Jake Trout and the Flounders. Headlined by former PGA Tour player-turned-broacaster Peter Jacobsen, the band has put out several golf parody hits including “Slow Play,” (parody of Eric Clapton’s “Cocaine”) and “Low Riser” (War’s “Low Rider”). But our selection of theirs is “Love the One You Whiff,” a parody of Stephen Stills’ “Love the One You’re With,” an ode to beginner golfers who having a little trouble getting off the tee.

6. Our next nominee is another golf star known for his music: John Daly. This is one of those lifetime achievement nominations similar to what fans often see at the Oscars, but Daly deserves it. His album, I Only Know One Way, is filled with self-reflective tunes. And while we really wanted to pick “All My Exes Wear Rolexs,” it was impossible to ignore Daly’s signature song, “Hit it Hard.”

5. Here’s a random entry into the mix from some amateur golfers, or maybe cartoonists, it’s hard to say. This is one of those songs that is purposefully annoying, and upon the first watch you’ll probably hate it. But once you realize it’s stuck in your head, you’ll revisit the video and find it funnier and funnier on each subsequent viewing. Oh, the internet is a wonderful place.

4. John Denver has an entry in the golf parody song game with “18 Holes,” a parody of Tennessee Ernie Ford’s “16 Tons.” The catchy tune and lyrics won’t soon leave your head, as Denver lovingly describes the frustrations of the weekend golfer. “Golf is my life, but it sure is a pain.” Plus, Denver certainly has the leg up on most of our contestants vocally.

3. Perhaps the most well-known golf parody song belongs to “The Golf Boys.” PGA Tour players Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Hunter Mahan, and Ben Crane are featured in “Oh Oh Oh,” a video less about the music and more about the choreography and costumes. The video was such a hit that it spawned a sequel, “2.Oh,” that basically revolved around making puns out of PGA Tour players names. And yes, it’s as funny as it sounds.

2. Our final two entries are everything you’d want from a golf parody. Hilarious spoof on a well known song, a great video, made by amateur golfers we can relate to. It was a tough choice, but for No. 2 we had to go with “Slice, Slice, Baby” a parody on Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby.” It’s as simple as three guys at a country club, but their comedic commitment deserves major kudos. The dancing, the rap, it’s all exceptional.

1. And finally, the best golf parody song of all time: “Bohemian Rhapsody: A golfing parody tribute,” obviously in reference to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsod.” The production quality is extremely high for these four Australian golfing buddies. The lyrics are hilarious, the acting performances are incredible, and the supporting footage is top-notch. Enjoy.

  1. Is there any way to get the lyrics to the one done to the melody of “Bohemian Rhapsody”?
