Walton Selected Head of Delegation for U.S. Youth National Team

Ball State men’s volleyball head coach Joel Walton has been selected to serve as head of delegation for the 2017 U.S. Youth National Volleyball Team. Coach Walton will travel with the team to the World Championship Tournament.

Coach Walton and the athletes on the travel roster will make their way to Bahrain on August 18-27 to compete against other top contenders in the World Championships.

“I always enjoy working for USA Volleyball,” said Walton. “It is a good way to get to know coaches from across the country and be in a training environment with great athletes. Serving as the Head of Delegation for the USA Youth National Volleyball Team competing in the world championships is a great honor. I look forward to the competition and the opportunity to see volleyball played at its highest level. I am also excited to be in Bahrain and have an opportunity to see another part of the world.”

The U.S. Youth National Team is the highest level of programming for the youth age group. Twenty-four athletes were selected for a “2nd tryout” following the release of spring tryout results. From that group, 12 athletes will be selected to travel to compete in the international competition.
