WatchESPN: @BallStateMVB Hosts McKendree & Ohio State

After a month of March Madness work, Ball State Sports Link returns to live productions on ESPN3 this weekend as the No. 12 Ball State Men’s Volleyball teams hosts McKendree and defending NCAA Champion No. 7 Ohio State.

Both matches, slated for a 7:30 p.m. start, will be streamed live on ESPN 3, available in the ESPN and the WatchESPN apps and on DIRECTV.

It’s an important weekend for the Cardinals for postseason tournament seeding in the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament, which begins April 14.

Ball State is currently the No. 3 seed in the tournament, but could finish the season sharing a conference championship or drop as low as the No. 5 seed based on weekend results.

In addition, three Ball State seniors will be honored prior to Saturday’s match with the Buckeyes. Those three seniors are Anthony LebrykMatt Walsh and Mitch Weiler.

Sports Link’s weekend talent team features senior Mick Tidrow and sophomore Jack Kizer on the call, with sophomore Preston Husband and freshman Jarin Matheny as the sideline announcers and halftime hosts.

Junior Alex Thomas and senior Drew Duff are the weekend’s producers. Junior Sam Ahrens will direct both matches, while freshman Jared Frank is the technical director.

ESPN3 is ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually.  It is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and streaming devices through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.

The network is currently available nationwide at no additional cost who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.  It is also available at no cost to U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.

In addition to ESPN’s linear networks, DIRECTV customers with a broadband-enabled set top box will also be able to watch. Customers will not need to log in to access this content, as they will be automatically authenticated.
