@BallStateWVB, WatchESPN Highlight Sports Link Weekend

Five Sports Link live productions in three days — of three sports — is highlighted by two telecasts to ESPN platforms this week.

Ball State Soccer Friday at 4 p.m. starts the weekend on SL Digital, followed by Ball State Women’s Volleyball on ESPN+ at 7 p.m.

Then, Saturday, Ball State Football is at Central Michigan at 3 p.m. on SL Digital, followed by Ball State Women’s Volleyball on ESPN3 at 7 p.m.  The weekend’s broadcasts conclude Sunday at 2 p.m. as soccer hosts Buffalo.

SL Digital is the program’s new direct-to-consumer broadcast delivery offering a FREE live stream with play-by-play for football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, soccer, field hockey and more in 2018-19.

The SL Digital Radio stream is available on any connected device and can even play within your social media timeline. SL Digital will also include podcasts and special programming throughout the year.

The Ball State women’s volleyball (14-5; 5-1) team returns to Worthen Arena for a pair of matches versus Mid-American Conference East Division foes this weekend — a Friday showdown with Ohio (8-11; 3-3) and then Saturday, the Cardinals play host to Kent State *8-12; 1-5).

For the weekend’s ESPN contests, junior Dylan Thompson is the executive producer of both volleyball contests, while junior Luke Foster will direct.  Sophomore Jared Frank is the weekend’s technical director.

The telecasts will feature eight cameras and produced from Ball State’s centralized, fibered control room in the Ball Communication Building.

Sophomore Jarin Matheny will call the play-by-play of both matches, while junior Preston Husband will provide the analysis.

Ball State’s current 12-set winning streak ties as the 15th-longest set winning streak in program history and is the team’s longest since the 2015 season when BSU also swept four straight matches from Oct. 23 to Oct. 31. The longest set winning streak in program history is 23 from Nov. 3, 1993 to Nov. 27, 1993.
