
Ball State Sports Link and Sports Production is seeking interested students in pursuing a graduate degree in the College of Communication, Media and Information at Ball State University and working directly with our nationally-recognized sports media production program.
The Graduate Assistant Director of Ball State Sports Link will report to the Senior Director of Sports Production and Ball State Sports Link. The assistantship would start Fall 2021.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Assist and collaborate with Director and Assistant Director to train students, supervise Ball State Sports Link
- Collaborate and organize course material for both Ball State Sports Link and Sports Production
- Assist social media outreach and content for the program
- Ability to freelance to gain industry experience to instruct and mentor Sports Production students
- Coordinate and lead with the creation of multiple daily segments based on Ball State Sports
- Collaborate with students and Directors on story planning, pitch process, new segments and coverage
- Plan future events and story coverage in conjunction with content, programming, and analytic teams
- Supervise and coordinate remote shoots in the field
- Includes monthly stipend and tuition waiver
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and producing skills
- Ability to communicate ideas effectively and efficiently
- Experience with all forms of visual storytelling, digital and linear
- Knowledge of digital post-production process using Adobe and Apple software
- Final Cut or Adobe Premiere editing knowledge and understanding preferred
- Working knowledge of the latest digital video tools from consumer to top of the line cameras, lights, and microphones
