Sports Link Digital Radio Opens 2022 Broadcast Season With Men’s Volleyball Thursday

Ball State Sports Link, the nation’s first four-year sports media and production program, opens its 2022 broadcast season Thursday as a new era begins with Ball State Men’s Volleyball.

The Cardinals open the Donan Cruz era with a 7 p.m. first serve versus Maryville. Prior to Ball State, Cruz was a four-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Coach of the Year at Grand View University.

Sports Link Digital, presented by Victory Honda of Muncie, is the exclusive streaming home for a variety of Ball State Sports, inlcuding men’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball this semester.

Sophomore Donnie Harmon and freshman Dominick Liacone have the call of both matches this week for SL Digital Radio. Ball State hosts Tusculum University at 3 p.m. Saturday. Men’s Volleyball then hosts George Mason (Jan. 21) and No. 1 Hawai’i (Jan. 29 & Jan. 31).

Just the fourth head coach in the storied history of Ball State men’s volleyball, Cruz led the inaugural Grand View men’s team to a 13-13 mark in 2012 season, on his way to compiling a 211-55 overall record with the Vikings. He concluded his Grand View career with the best winning percentage in NAIA men’s volleyball history at .793.

Graduate senior setter Quinn Isaacson and senior outside attacker Kaleb Jenness earned spots on the Preseason All-MIVA Team, while the Cardinals were picked to finish fourth in the MIVA Preseason Poll.
