Vice President of B1G Ten Storytelling Visits

Bill Friedman, Vice President of Storytelling and Originals at the B1G Ten Network, visited with Sports Link students Sept 9 and 10 on campus.

The two-day seminar with students focused on the foundations of successful storytelling, producing follow docs, episodic programming and becoming a better interviewer.

“It’s important to our program to have industry professionals come to campus and engage with our students,” says Senior Director of Sports Production Chris Taylor. “Bill is a pro’s pro with an incredible pedigree of storytelling and producing. His visit comes at the start of our semester, but also the start of the season in the B1G Ten, so for Bill to come to Muncie was exceptional. I’m grateful for his external validation of what our students are learning and producing at Ball State.”

An employee at BTN since the network launched in August of 2007, Friedman has led the development and creation of the network’s original shows and storytelling – including the award-winning franchise The Journey.

B1G Network Originals is focused on creating compelling programming showcasing the people and personalities within the 14 member institutions and their alumni. He works closely with BTN’s digital and social teams to create original digital content including B1G Networks’s digital storytelling franchises At The Net, On The Court, On The Ice and On The Mat. He also contributes to programming efforts including B1G Network’s football and basketball game selections.
