Meet the tres amigas from Spain on the Ball State Women’s Basketball team.
Violeta Rojas comes to Ball State after playing for one year at Trinidad State. Rojas averaged 20.1 points per game while shooting over 47 percent from the floor for the Trojans. She appeared in 16 games with 14 starts while averaging 24 minutes per contest. Rojas scored 20+ points in four of her last six games including a 25-point performance versus Lamar Community College. Her career best came against Northeastern Junior College after dropping 31 points for the Trojans. She brings a total of 321 career points to the Cardinals’ fast paced offense next season while also finishing her freshman year ranked seventh in scoring in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Anna Caballero, a highly decorated European player, found success in her prep career. She has earned multiple national championship medals including a Gold National Championship Medal of Communities and a Silver Medal at the European Young Olympics with Spain. Caballero has earned spots on the U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 and U18 national team rosters as well as participated in Basketball Without Borders Phoenix 2024 showcase.
Laura Martinez has spent her European career playing for the Granada Más Baloncesta, competing for a multitude of age categories each year. Martinez has been a member of the senior team (18 and over) since the age of 14. She has participated in three promotions in the LF2 national leagues. This past season, Martinez played in the LF2 national league. Martinez was selected to play for all the provincial teams of her province of Granada along with being chosen to compete with the Andalusian team where she won a bronze medal in the Spanish Championship.
