Sports Link Wins Three SVG College Sports Media Awards; Earns BEA No. 1 Ranking

The college-sports-video-production community reconvened in Atlanta May 27-28 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel to celebrate the best and brightest in creative content over the past athletics year. The 17th-annual SVG College Sports Media Awards in association with NACDA passed out numerous trophies to the winners from institutions of various sizes.

Sports Link students captured three first-place awards at the ceremony, which recognized the best in college sports media. The three wins in 2025 brings Sports Link’s total to 20 SVG awards since 2010, while Sports Link is the most-nominated student program in SVG history.

The SVG Awards bring Sports Link’s total awards to 38 for this past school year, and 291 total awards since 2010.

Sports Link won for outstanding feature story (No Limits: The Sarah Mahnensmith Story); outstanding cinematic recap (WBB MAC Tournament: The Movie) and outstanding social media video (My Black Is).

The honors comes just weeks after Ball State’s Sports Link program ascended to the No. 1 spot for top winning sports media programs by the Broadcast Education Association (BEA). In this competition, student creative work goes through a rigorous blind-juried process that includes multiple evaluations by both academic and professional experts from across the country.

Each school’s student achievements are then calculated and ranked for each of the seven competition categories. Consistently ranked the No. 2 sports media program since 2022, Sports Link vaulted to the top spot this season ahead of Arizona State, Syracuse, Oklahoma and the University of Miami.
