Ball State Sports Link students and staff attended the 2018 Sports Video Group’s College Summit at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta May 31 and June 1.

Directors Chris Taylor and Alex Kartman, along with students Tyler Bradfield, Erinn Casey, Seena Greiwe, Connor Nichols and Alex Thomas represented Sports Link at the two-day event.

The 2018 SVG College Summit, drawing a packed house of more than 600 college-video professionals a, focused on the creative and storytelling aspects of college-video production.

At the core of the discussion was a special Keynote Conversation featuring two of the most talented storytellers in sports television: CBS Sports Emmy Award-winning Senior Creative Director Pete Radovich and Coordinating Producer for College Football Craig Silver.

The keynote session, titled “Modern Creative Storytelling in Live and Postproduction Sports Environments,” provided an inside look at how the two CBS Sports leaders create high-quality content in both a live and a non-live environment.

Most notably, it took SVG College Summit attendees behind the scenes of this year’s production of the Army-Navy Game. Radovich detailed how he and his team created the inspiring Sports Emmy-winning show open, and Silver addressed how his team inside the truck adapted to the compelling action on the field.
